Booting the IP-STB

If you are booting a single IP-STB, or a very small population of STBs, for instance in a lab or developer situation, you might want to look into the following boot methods:

• HTTP Booting
• TFTP Booting
• USB Booting

If you have multicast traffic enabled in your network, you can look into the Infocast Server as a way of distributing boot images.

You will also need to configure your DHCP Server

Once the IP-STB is booting, you may want to know the meaning of the status messages in more detail.

If something is going wrong, run the bootloader_log_client.py tool (available in the kreatv-logtools rpm). It provides information on the STBs attempts to download a bootimage.
