USB bootIf USB boot is specified in the kernel protocol or splash protocol (7), the ARRIS Boot Loader will scan the USB ports for USB drives. If the boot loader successfully mounts a USB drive it will search for kernel and splash file named with the following syntax: [bootcast id]-kernel and [bootcast id]-splash. E.g.: arris-vip4302wbt-kernel and arris-vip4302wbt-splash. The USB device must use either the FAT32 or the EXT4 file system. The kernel and splash must be located in the first partition of the USB disk. If no partition table exists the device is tried. External USB HUBs are not supported. |
