Text and Font size

The amount of text that fits on a TV is much less than on a monitor, since it has to be bigger to be readable on the screen.

By default, the KreaTV IP-STB uses dejaVu sans font, which is used for better readability on the TV screen. Web pages normally use quite small text since the reading distance from a computer screen is between 50-70 cm. The TV screen is usually placed at a distance of 3-5 m, and therefore the recommended size for text on portal pages is at least 16 pixels.

The font size should be specified for all text in a portal since the default font size may differ depending on configuration. The font size should be specified in pixels (px) since that is a fixed size, in contrast to points which may vary depending on configuration.

It is required to specify all font sizes using a style sheet. This ensures the specification is not missing for some texts as long as the style sheet is included on all pages.
