Booting the IP-STB

If you are booting a single IP-STB, or a very small population of IP-STBs, for instance in a lab or developer situation, you might want to look into the following boot methods:

• HTTP Booting
• TFTP Booting
• USB Booting

For large populations of IP-STBs, including bigger labs or live, production environments, you should be looking into a scalable and flexible boot method such as Infocast

You will also need to configure your DHCP Server

Once the IP-STB is booting, you may want to know the meaning of the status messages in more detail.

If something is going wrong, run the bootloader_log_client.py tool (available in the kreatv-logtools rpm). It provides information on the STBs attempts to download a bootimage.
