Configuration

Add the corresponding IIPs to the boot image configuration file to enable support for a specific container format.

Supported Features and Formats

• The MP4 file format specified in the international specification ISO/IEC 14496.
• Fragmented MP4 formats, like HTTP Smooth Streaming specified by Microsoft and MPEG DASH as defined in the ISO/IEC 23009-1.
• Codecs: H.264 (AVC), H.265 (HEVC), MP3, AAC, AC3 and eAC3.

Limitations

Not all files are guaranteed to work. Some long-duration or poorly-organized MP4 files can have extremely large headers that may require more memory or CPU than the set-top box can handle. The maximum recommended header size is around 8MiB.

The following table relates header size to content duration for reasonably-formatted MP4 files:
