This option makes it possible to configure the settings that will be used when the STB is booted for the first time. The provided settings will also be used for unknown (not yet configured) digital displays.

Design

At boot when the video output service is started it will load video output settings in this priority order:

  1. From settings previously saved in the STB flash memory.
  2. From default settings provided by this IIP.
  3. Video outputs select a configuration automatically.
As partial configurations are allowed, number two in the list above may also include some automatic configuration of the settings that are not provided.

Usage

Default video settings are composed based on specific settings via the parameters listed below.

Parameters

    Corresponds to COLOR_SYSTEM_NTSC_M in TOI.
  • ntsc_j
    Corresponds to COLOR_SYSTEM_NTSC_J in TOI.

    Corresponds to COLOR_SYSTEM_PAL_B in TOI.
  • pal_m
    Corresponds to COLOR_SYSTEM_PAL_M in TOI.
  • pal_n

NOTE: This parameter is deprecated. This parameter does not take effect. Settings in production parameters overrides.

hdmi_color Once HDMI color space values.

Possible values are:

  • srgb
    Corresponds to DIGITAL_COLOR_SPACE_SRGB in TOI.
  • ycbcr_444
    Corresponds to DIGITAL_COLOR_SPACE_YCBCR_444 in TOI.
  • ycbcr_422
    Corresponds to DIGITAL_COLOR_SPACE_YCBCR_422 in TOI.
  • xvycc
    Corresponds to DIGITAL_COLOR_SPACE_XVYCC in TOI.
  • ycbcr_420
    Corresponds to DIGITAL_COLOR_SPACE_YCBCR_420 in TOI.
  • auto
    The service will try to choose the optimal color space.
 Enum auto hdmi_color=xvycc
hdmi_depth Once HDMI color depth values.

Possible values are:

  • 8
    Corresponds to COLOR_DEPTH_8 in TOI.
  • 10
    Corresponds to COLOR_DEPTH_10 in TOI.
  • 12
    Corresponds to COLOR_DEPTH_12 in TOI.
  • 16
    Corresponds to COLOR_DEPTH_16 in TOI.
  • auto
    The service will try to choose the optimal color depth.
 Enum auto hdmi_depth=16
hdmi_level Once HDMI color level values.

Possible values are:

  • limited
    Corresponds to COLOR_LEVEL_LIMITED_RANGE in TOI.
  • full_rgb
    Corresponds to COLOR_LEVEL_FULL_RANGE_RGB in TOI.
  • full_ycc
    Corresponds to COLOR_LEVEL_FULL_RANGE_YCC in TOI.
  • auto
    The service will try to choose the optimal color level.

hdmi_mode Once HDMI mode values.

Possible values are:

  • 480i60
    Corresponds to VIDEO_MODE_480I60 in TOI.
  • 576i50
    Corresponds to VIDEO_MODE_576I50 in TOI.
