Fast Boot

The VIP11x3, VIP2853 and VIP2952 STB's support a fast-booting mode if software is already available in the STB flash memory. This is known as Two Stage Boot, and it bypasses the usual download/update/splash screen part of the boot process, reducing the boot up time considerably.

Some changes may be required to your bootimage building process and Infocast server. See the page on configuring two stage boot for further information.

Note that when using two stage booting, no splash screen is displayed.
