Profiler Service Introduction

This document describes how the Profiler Service is integrated in KreaTV platforms.

The Profiler Service is a TECHNICAL PREVIEW, and may be subject to change.

Service

The Profiler Service API is used to configure, start and stop monitoring of various performance related properties such as memory usage and number of performed graphics operations.

Each application can choose to monitor itself or any other application that is able to provide monitorable properties.

TOI Shell

For real-time monitoring, it may be useful to access the Profiler Service through TOI Shell, rather than implementing printouts to the screen on the actual application under monitoring (and possibly degrade performance due to added graphics).

This is a quick way to get started as it does not require any modifications or additional applications. Use 'toish pf' or 'toish profiler' to learn about the available commands.
