Technical Preview OverViewsThe term "Technical Preview", hereafter TP, is used both for features and for external interfaces and in somewhat different meanings: Features - a feature that is labelled as TP is intended for lab tests and concept evaluation. It is unsupported by Motorola and any deployment/field test is carried out on the responsibility of the customer. Features with TP status have not reached QA in SI&T, and interfaces associated with the feature may change without being backwards compatible. That is, this is functionality that is in the code and that may work, but it is not covered by any SLA terms. On the other hand a GA feature is supported under SLA and maintenance releases to this release will continue to support the feature. External interfaces - an interface or part of an interface that is labelled as TP has no backwards compatibility commitment. It may change in future releases and even be removed. New interfaces are always introduced as TP and set GA when used by customers and proven to be mature. Consequently it will be common that a feature that is GA (that is not TP) many times is exposed through an interface that is TP. It means that the feature will be supported within maintenance releases but its interfaces may change.
