Fast Boot

The VIP11x3 and VIP2853 STB's support a fast-booting mode if software is already available in the STB flash memory. This fast boot mode bypasses the usual download/update/splash screen part of the boot process, and can reduce the boot up time considerably.

Some changes may be required to your bootimage building process and Infocast server. See the page on configuring fast boot for further information.

Note that when fast booting, no splash screen is displayed.
